Is the Library One-Shot Effective? A Meta-Analytic Study

نویسندگان

چکیده

The one-shot instruction session is a dominant mode of teaching in academic libraries. While many conference presentations and articles about methods have been shared, there little consensus whether single library promotes student learning information literacy topics. This meta-analysis gathers studies that employ quantitative measures an attempt to determine if the effective modality for learning. Results indicate need more critical look at grouping “one-shot” as methodology further robust research on acquisition outcomes context.

Is working memory training effective? A meta-analytic review.

It has been suggested that working memory training programs are effective both as treatments for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and other cognitive disorders in children and as a tool to improve cognitive ability and scholastic attainment in typically developing children and adults. However, effects across studies appear to be variable, and a systematic meta-analytic review was...

Effective 1.0: An Analytic Effective Action Analysis Library∗

Effective is a C++ library which provides the user a toolbox to study the effective action of an arbitrary field theory. From the field content, gauge groups and representations an appropriate action is generated symbolically. The effective potential, mass spectrum, field couplings and vacuum expectation values are then obtained automatically; tree level results are obtained analytically while ...

Is cognitive-behavioral therapy more effective than other therapies? A meta-analytic review.

Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is effective for a range of psychiatric disorders. However, it remains unclear whether CBT is superior to other forms of psychotherapy, and previous quantitative reviews on this topic are difficult to interpret. One-Shot Visual Imitation Learning via Meta-Learning

In order for a robot to be a generalist that can perform a wide range of jobs, it must be able to acquire a wide variety of skills quickly and efficiently in complex unstructured environments. High-capacity models such as deep neural networks can enable a robot to represent complex skills, but learning each skill from scratch then becomes infeasible. In this work, we present a meta-imitation le...
